Behind every Results Tile, Chart and Subscription in AVA there are queries. These are the filters that determine what records are returned or triggered.
We’re in the process of adding new guidance and icons to your query screens and charts, to help you understand the impacts of the changes you might make to these queries, or simply explain why you can’t edit them.
Different Query Types
- Stand-alone Query – These queries are usually attached to a single Tile or Subscription. Only users with edit access to those elements can edit the query. These queries could be clones of Saved Queries, but changing the filters applied will not impact the original query. They have no owner as they are generated by AVA.
- Saved Query – (Owned Query, User Generated Query) – These queries are saved, created and owned by a user. Currently, they can only be edited by the creator or a user with system administrator privileges. These queries could be used across multiple tiles, so changing the filters applied to them could have greater impact.
