We’re making it easier to move through records by introducing a more intuitive and consistent set of actions across EcoOnline.
✨ What’s changing?
When you’re completing a record, the primary action will now reflect what you are most likely to do next.
Next will be shown whenever there are additional steps to complete within the record, guiding you through the journey one step at a time.

Submit will appear once you’ve reached the final step and your record is ready to be progressed.

Save will remain available from the More (â‹®) menu whenever you want to save your progress without moving to the next step.

This means you’ll always have a clear indication of whether clicking the primary button will continue your journey or complete it.
✅ What’s not changing
Workflow-specific actions such as Accept, Reject, Verify, Archive, Return to Draft, Request Closure, and other specialist actions will continue to work exactly as they do today.
🎯 Why we’re making this change
We’re standardising button labels throughout the platform to make record interactions more predictable.
- Submit will always indicate that the record will be progressed to its next workflow state.
- Save will always mean your changes are stored without progressing the record.
This makes it clearer what each click will do, guides you naturally through multi-step records, and brings a more consistent experience across EcoOnline EHS.
